The loves and relationships of many of us are often made up of comic, awkward, and sometimes completely unbelievable stories — stories we occasionally prefer not to share with anyone at all. Some search for love in nature, others in anonymous ads. Some cannot let go of their ex, no matter how hard they try. iShorts invite you to a program of cinematic attraction, hatred, and romantic escape — whether you long for love, hold it tightly in your hands, or find it a burden.

FIRST SIGHT (UK)

In the near-future age of Artificial Intelligence, Luna is finally ready to re-enter the world of dating, turning to smart contact lenses to overcome her anxiety. But when her search for human connection takes a dark turn and her vision is held for ransom, she must outsmart a mysterious hacker to save her sight... and her date night.

DISPOSABLE (CZECH REPUBLIC)

The story takes us into a world of disposability, where everything—from objects to relationships and emotions—is designed for immediate consumption and replacement. The main character, Rebeka, lives in an artificial reality where her entire life is surrounded by plastic. Her apartment is full of disposable furniture, her clothes are thrown away after a single use, and even her food comes in plastic packaging. Every day, she follows the same routine dictated by a society obsessed with superficiality and consumerism.

THE SIXST SUMMER (GERMANY)

How do you deal with it when a loved one suddenly decides against you and can no longer be reached. Rosa spends her summer in her former boyfriend's street, on the wall opposite his house, to get the apology she thinks she deserves and is supported in this endeavour by the residents of the street. One day it turns out that her ex-boyfriend has gone on holiday and Rosa is encouraged to do the same. A journey begins with the obsessive attempt to have a good time and the question of how to say goodbye to someone who is suddenly no longer there.

SALSA RUEDA (CZECH REPUBLIC)

Attractive dancers including Patrick and Jasmine, meet In the Latino club every night. But behind the passionate dancing the iconic couple have a relationship full of insecurities and arguments. Jasmine doesn't know if she's imagining things or if she's too blinded by love to recognize where it comes from.

HOT FLUSH (SLOVAKIA)

Elena, a social curator, is entering a new phase of her life as she approaches climacterium. As if it weren’t enough, Erik, a troubled teenager abandoned by his mother, who she mentors, misinterprets some of her gestures and initiates an unexpected sexual encounter in the office toilets. This moment throws them into existential crises, where they both find out their own inappropriate way to cope. Will Elena pretend nothing happened, or will she finally face the world on her own terms?
