The traditional spring showdown of film schools is back in your cinema! Once again, you can look forward to a short film battle featuring four contenders from Prague’s FAMU, Písek’s FAMO, Zlín’s UTB, and Bratislava’s VŠMU. Which film will win your vote this time?

Rumors (VŠMU)

The majestic cross of the savior rises above the village and casts a shadow on the grieving neighborhood, preparing for the funeral. Vladimír buries his wife and impatiently awaits his son Dušan, from whom he has long been estranged. Dušan comes to the funeral intoxicated and emotionally armored against everything that has happened. At the same time, the priest is late, thanks to which the funeral takes on a certain urgency and tension arises between locals. Then there's the dreadful heat and the urge to take a sip of a cold beer.

Is the Storm Hungry? (UTB)

Little Meda spends her last summer days with her parents on a half-decayed farm. Among the overgrown flowerbeds she seeks shelter from the approaching storm, but also from the feeling that she is nowhere near home. As the parents find no words with each other and the big storm inevitably approaches, Meda escapes into the arms of the garden one last time. But some scarecrows are impossible to hide from.

Mona Lisa (FAMO)

Beata and Jura live a happy life creating imitations of well-known paintings through photographs. They love each other. Their lives take an unexpected turn, as photos fade and their memories slowly begins to change.
