The new season of iShorts kicks off with already a traditional cooperation with the Girls in Film platform. A curated selection of short films from both local and international filmmakers will showcase various genres and themes that the new generation of female authors portray in their stories. Come to watch films that created buzz in Cannes, Sundance or Locarno.

Nights are long inside Naomi and Ram’s room. Tonight, they’ve invited Marina over and their messy space is under scrutiny. Exploring intimacy as personal playground, skin as intimate map, Naomi’s docile body is coming loose amidst the tension inside a room she continues knowing and unknowing.
The film was awarded Swiss Silver Pardino prize at Locarno film festival, Best Short film award at Elbe Dock and many others.

Southern Slovakia, hot summer days, a family of three generations meets under one roof. An unexpected visit from Zoja, the granddaughter, stirs up the peaceful routine. Within a quiet presence of God and alcohol, the family untails it’s tragicomical past and a few (almost) unsaid secrets.
The film competed at Cannes film festival’s Cinéfondation section.

Mohammad is a crane operator working in Beirut. One morning he volunteers to take on one of the tallest and notoriously most dangerous cranes in Lebanon. Away from everyone’s eyes, he is able to live out his secret passion and find freedom.
The film was awarded Short Film Jury Prize at Sundance and received accolades also at Tampere or Aspen.

The predatory feelings associated with lesbian orientation embodied in the archetype of the vampire and her endless cycle of self-blame and self-loathing. Social media as a virtual coffin that is indeed comfortable but certainly won't last forever. Nonconformity and social anxiety concerning otherness have a centuries-old dilemma - to disrupt or assimilate?
